Welcome to the website of Sherrid Invention LLC, the business founded by Pamela Sherrid, the producer and moderator of the IPO IP Chat Channel.
The IPO IP Chat Channel offers weekly webinars on timely topics in intellectual property. The program launched in November 2009, and is a cooperative venture between Pamela, a veteran business journalist, and the Intellectual Property Owners Association, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association which represents owners of IP across all industries. The programs, typically webcast live at 2 PM ET on a midweek day, offer Continuing Legal Education credit to attendees. You can register for upcoming programs and watch archived versions of all past webinars here.
TheIP Chat Channel has webcast more than 200 programs since its inception, with panels that include top IP litigators, patent prosecutors, in-house counsel, USPTO and other government officials, and judges. We react quickly to important news in the IP community, often offering a program on a key Federal Circuit decision or U.S. Supreme Court hearing within a week or so of the event. The IP Chat Channelalso offers tightly-focused webinars on topics of longer-term interest, such as "Cyberattacks on IP: Response and Prevention", "Collaborative Research Agreements", and "Conflicts of Interest in Patent Prosecution and Litigation." Taking advantage of the Internet's reach, many panels include live speakers in China and Europe. Each panel is comprised of experts from varied institutions and points of view, and attendees can ask each of them questions directly.
From 2006 to 2008, Pamela was the editor of IP Law & Business, the leading U.S. magazine on IP until its demise after the financial crisis. In prior stints at Fortune, Forbes and U.S. News & World Report, she was a reporter and writer covering news, trends, and issues in broad swaths of the business and legal world, from Wall Street to bio-engineered wheat. Pamela got interested in IP while covering the biotech industry at U.S. News, and now is happy to be part of the community that helps innovation get commercialized.
